IDF Chief of Staff Hertzi Ha-Levi promises a “serious response” to Hezbollah militants in Lebanon. He announced his intention to strike the terrorist group that attacked the village of Majdal Shams. Israel then announced shelling of northern areas of the country and confirmed its readiness to respond.

Ha-Levi stressed that Hezbollah does not differentiate between friends and Jews and called for caution in responding. After the shelling of a stadium in the Golan Heights, 12 people were killed and more than 30 were wounded. Israel said that the Hezbollah attack crossed all red lines and intends to respond accordingly.

Despite the group's denial, the United States fears a possible war between Israel and Hezbollah. US President Joe Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and negotiate a ceasefire. The possibility of reaching an agreement as soon as possible was discussed.
