The Al-Akhbar website reported that Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, had decided to postpone the start of a full-scale war with Israel and temporarily suspend military operations. The latest incident on the border occurred at night in Upper Galilee, when the village of Kisra Sumei was shelled.

The decision was made after Israel launched a preliminary strike on Hezbollah rocket launchers in late August. The group's leadership realized the high cost Lebanon would have to pay if a full-scale war with Israel began. That is why Nasrallah announced a suspension of hostilities “until further notice.”
