On the night of September 12, 2024, UNRWA reported the death of six of its employees in IDF attacks in Nuseirat, Gaza. The strike targeted the Al-Jauni school, killing 18 people. Another four were killed in the shelling, and refugees from the Al-Bureij camp were also injured.

Israel has provided details of UNRWA staff members who are linked to terrorist groups, as the agency's investigation seeks to reduce the scale of the problem.
