On September 12, 2024, at 04:41, a critical power supply situation arose in Konotop due to serious damage to the energy infrastructure after the Russian strike on the city. Mayor Artem Semenikhin said that attempts are currently being made to provide electricity to the hospital and water utility, but there is no exact time frame for restoring power to residential buildings.

Many educational institutions in the city were damaged in the form of broken windows and doors. The exact number of damaged institutions is not yet known, and tomorrow kindergartens will operate as duty groups.

Water in the city will be supplied on an hourly schedule, it was announced this morning. Part of the tram route in the city center has been destroyed, which will lead to restrictions on tram traffic. Currently, only route No. 3 is operating.

It is important to note that the “Punkti Nezlamnosti” (Safety Point) began operating in Konotop, and people whose homes were damaged were transported to special places to stay overnight.
