Relatives of deceased hostage Alexander Lobanov have given permission to publish a video filmed by Hamas militants in Gaza. In the video, Lobanov addresses the Israeli government, describing the difficult conditions of captivity and the lack of basic necessities.
Hamas militants used the release of the video as part of a psychological war against Israel. Lobanov recounts the government's failed attempts to free the hostages and the failed exchange deal. He remained in captivity for several months until his body, along with five other hostages, was found with evidence of violence.
Alexander Lobanov was a resident of Ashklon, worked at the Nova Festival, and left behind a wife and two children. His youngest child was born while he was in captivity. Hamas terrorists shot the hostages in an underground tunnel on the evening of August 29 or during the day of August 30 using force.
