Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his indignation at the proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine by J.D. Vance, the Republican vice presidential candidate.
The president called the idea “terrible,” warning that it could lead to a global standoff. He noted that such ideas send “dangerous signals” to Ukraine and could have serious consequences. Zelensky also noted that there were no such problems with Donald Trump, and their communication was as positive as possible.
Zelensky stressed that any attempt to make a deal at the expense of Ukrainian territory could lead to a global conflict involving many countries, including Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Taiwan, China and African countries. Therefore, such an approach carries great risks and could have catastrophic consequences.
Mike Pompeo, former US Secretary of State, also expressed his dissatisfaction with J.D. Vance's proposals, considering them contrary to the interests of the United States.
