On the night of September 29, 2024, a US base was attacked in eastern Syria by Iranian militants using missiles and drones. In response, the US military launched airstrikes against militants in the Al-Bukamal area on the Iraq-Syria border, killing at least 18 Iraqis and 12 people in the Syrian province of Deir al-Zur.
According to the Syrian opposition monitoring group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen, affiliated with Hezbollah, claims that the strikes were carried out by the Israeli Air Force. According to them, eight Syrians were killed as a result of the attack.
All these events only confirm the very tense situation in the Middle East and the complexity of the situation in this region.
