The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, will take part in the BRICS summit in Kazan. According to the head of the organization’s information center in the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Guterres will attend the meeting as an invited person. The UN expressed hope for reaching important agreements that would contribute to the implementation of the sustainable development goals for 2030.
The interaction of countries within the framework of the unification of Russia, China, India, and Brazil began in September 2006 on Putin’s initiative. Currently, in addition to these countries, BRICS includes South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and, so far unofficially, Saudi Arabia.
