Israel has arrested suspects in leaking intelligence about Hamas, including a Netanyahu aide.

Information about the government incident was banned for a long time, until the court revealed some details only on November 1. The Israel Defense Forces has asked Shin Bet to begin an investigation into the leak of a secret intelligence report to the German tabloid Bild.

In early September 2024, Bild published a story about Hamas's strategy regarding the Israeli hostage negotiations. The joint investigation led to the arrest of suspects, including a top Netanyahu aide who had access to classified information but was not officially hired in his office.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has denied any involvement of his staff in the incident and blamed other government agencies for the leak. His aide was not given security clearance and actively advised Netanyahu without being officially hired.
