Three participants in the protest movement were detained by suspects of launching flares near the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea on the evening of November 16, 2024. Among those detained was a reserve officer actively involved in protests against the government.
The action to detain the suspects was carried out by employees of the LAHAV 433 unit on the night of November 17. Lawyer Gonen Ben-Itzhak, representing the interests of the detainees, noted that they were prohibited from meeting with a lawyer at the moment.
The reaction of protest organizations to the arrest of participants was clear: the event must be considered in the context of civil protest and cannot be used for political purposes.
