German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock called on Turkey and Israel to respect the territorial integrity of Syria after the fall of the Assad regime and not to interfere with the creation of a new unified government.
Ms. Berbock expressed the view that efforts by the international community are needed to ensure a stable and peaceful future for Syria, where all people can live together, regardless of their ethnic or religious background. She stressed that Syria's neighbors, including Israel and Turkey, should not disrupt dialogue in Syria and prevent the preservation of its territorial integrity for the sake of their own security.
Burbock also noted that after the fall of the Assad regime, the interests of all groups in Syria must be taken into account to ensure fairer and more inclusive governance. She called on Turkey and Israel to respect international law and refrain from actions that could disrupt the political settlement process in Syria.
Burbock stressed that respect for the territorial integrity and unity of Syria is a key component of international security and stability in the region. She stressed that neighboring countries, including Israel and Türkiye, should support efforts to restore peace and stability in Syria, and not act to the detriment of these efforts.
