The documentary The Bibi Affair, directed by Alexis Bloom and Alex Gibney, which has been banned from screening in Israel, has been shortlisted for an Oscar in the Best Documentary Feature category. The award ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025. Another film, No Other Land, produced by Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham and Basel Adra, also made the list.

The Bibi Affair investigates allegations of corruption and breach of trust against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Materials from Netanyahu's interrogations from 2016 to 2018 became available to documentary author Alex Gibney, who co-wrote the film. The film also contains interviews with other Israeli politicians and journalists.

Gibney notes: “These tapes reveal Netanyahu's character and prove his corruption. They show how we got to where we are today.”

The film is banned from being shown in Israel due to its possible influence on the trial.
