On Monday, February 24, 2024, on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution demanding the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

In the document, Russia was labeled as the “aggressor”, a designation that Trump did not agree with.

.......

The resolution was voted on by 93 countries, including almost all EU states; 65 countries did not express a clear position, abstaining from voting, and 18 voted against.

Israel was among those that voted against. This means that on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Israel, along with the USA and the Russian Federation, voted against the resolution that names Russia as the aggressor and demands an immediate end to the war.

The organization Our Israel initiated a petition on February 25, 2025, to collect signatures –

“Petition: Israel Must Not Support Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine!”

“We, the citizens of Israel, express our outrage and protest against the decision of the Israeli government to vote in the UN against the resolution supporting Ukraine.

Three years ago, Russia invaded Ukraine, violating international law and causing immeasurable damage to millions of people. Yesterday, Israel joined Russia, North Korea, and Belarus in voting against Ukraine’s territorial integrity. This is not merely a diplomatic mistake – it is a moral failure.

This vote supports Russian aggression, war crimes, and the destruction of the world order. At the same time, Russia strengthens our enemies, arms terrorists, and engages in open anti-Semitic rhetoric.

We demand from the Israeli government:

✅ To cease supporting Russian aggression.
✅ To maintain moral resilience and adhere to the principles of international law.
✅ Not to betray the values we ourselves expect from the global community.
Israel cannot condemn terrorism against itself while justifying terrorism against others. We must stand on the right side of history!
✍ Sign the petition and make it clear: we do not agree with this decision!”
