“He will die soon — and that’s a fact”: Zelensky’s powerful statement
In an interview with Eurovision News on March 26, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a resonant — and perhaps historic — statement:
“He will die soon — and that’s a fact. And everything will be over. He may end this issue before his safe and failed historical existence ends.”
Thus, Zelensky made it clear: the end of putin’s regime is not a hypothesis, but a matter of time. He added:
“I am younger than putin. Bet on me — I have a better future.”
putin’s main fear is not NATO
According to Zelensky, the dictator fears not external threats, but his own society, its destabilization, and the loss of power. He emphasized:
- The outside world cannot destabilize Russia — putin will do it himself.
- The biggest fear is isolation and loss of control.
- putin’s age is becoming a political factor.
“He is afraid above all of his own society. This will not come from the outside — he will cause his own downfall.”
Nighttime “energy truce”: shift or coincidence?
Zelensky reported that on the night of March 26, Russia did not attack Ukrainian energy facilities, and Ukraine did not respond in kind. However, the enemy launched more than 100 drones at other civilian targets.
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Date of incident | Night of March 26, 2025 |
| Russian attacks | Over 100 drones launched at civilian targets |
| Ukraine’s response | Refrained from attacking Russian energy infrastructure |
| Possible purpose | Demonstrating peaceful intentions |
The president emphasized that it remains unclear whether this was the result of informal agreements:
“You simply can’t trust them (Russia). We needed agreements from the start not to strike civilian infrastructure — that’s easier to monitor.”
Who will monitor the truce?
In Zelensky’s view, the key question is: who will take responsibility for monitoring the ceasefire? Ukraine is counting on the United States:

“We expect the United States to take responsibility for monitoring the terms.”
