Kyiv Day, traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May, in 2025 fell on May 25 — just one day after these massive attacks. Putin’s Russia, as if giving Kyiv a “gift” for the holiday, showed that for it, war is more important than traditions and the calm of peaceful people.
Night of Terror: Massive Barrage of Ballistics and Drones
During the night of May 23-24, 2025, Russia carried out one of the largest attacks on Ukraine. According to the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians fired 12 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and launched 250 Shahed drones and other types.
Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 6 of the 12 ballistic missiles and 245 drones. The enemy targeted Kyiv and also the regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia. This was a deliberate terrorist act aimed at peaceful cities and civilian infrastructure.
Kyiv — the main target of the night attack
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, as a result of the shelling in the capital, 14 people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized, two remain in inpatient care. The Dniprovskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Obolonskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts were affected.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, two apartments burned down, in the Obolonskyi district — the stairwell of an apartment building caught fire, windows were shattered, and several facades were damaged. In the Dniprovskyi district, two people were injured, in Holosiivskyi — cars were damaged and one person was injured. Among the wounded were two teenagers.

Direct Alliance of Russia with Iran and Terrorist Tactics
These strikes are the result of Russia’s cooperation with Iran, which supplies Shahed drones. The same drones were used in April 2024 to attack Israel. Then, as now, the goal was the same — the destruction of a democratic state, demoralizing society, and destroying infrastructure.
The methods of Putin’s Russia are identical to those used by Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel: attacks on peaceful civilians, turning apartments and schools into targets, and making terror the main tool of pressure.

“We are ready to hand over to Ukraine a draft of ending the war immediately after the prisoner exchange is completed.”
