Did you know that a subsidiary of the Israeli defense corporation Elbit Systems has been providing logistics, repair, modernization, and re-equipment services for armored vehicles intended for the Ukrainian army in Europe since 2022(!)?

Well, it’s true!

In Belgium, anti-Israeli activists from the group “Stop Arming Israel” damaged military equipment intended for the Ukrainian army worth $1.1 million, having “mistakenly identified” it as Israeli. Why Ukraine became the actual victim — explained by NAnews.

.......

Blind aggression against Israel turned into a blow to Ukraine

On June 26, 2025, more than a hundred activists from the “Stop Arming Israel” movement broke into the military facility of OIP Land Systems in the Belgian city of Tournai. Under slogans of “support for Palestine” and fighting against “Israeli militarism,” they damaged Ukrainian armored vehicles intended for the front line — estimated damage exceeding $1.1 million.

It turned out that the equipment they vandalized was not intended for Israel at all but was part of aid shipments to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Thus, this anti-Israeli action directly harmed the Ukrainian army.

OIP Land Systems is a Belgian company specializing in:

  • repair, modernization, and re-equipping of armored vehicles (including tanks and APCs);
  • adapting military equipment to NATO standards;
  • logistics and final preparation of military equipment for delivery, particularly to Ukraine.

Since 2022, OIP Land Systems has been actively participating in equipment supply programs for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is part of the OIP Sensor Systems group, which, in turn, is owned by the Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems.

The Tournai plant houses one of the largest private weapons stockpiles in Europe.

Official website of OIP Land Systems (part of OIP Sensor Systems): https://www.oip.be

The site outlines their areas of activity, including:

  • land systems;
  • sensors and surveillance systems;
  • armored vehicle modernization;
  • dual-use products;
  • partnership with Elbit Systems and involvement in international defense projects.

What happened in Tournai?

OIP Land Systems, part of the OIP Sensor Systems group, is a subsidiary of the Israeli company Elbit Systems, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of military electronics and defense technologies.

.......

The OIP warehouse in Tournai, where the activists broke in, hosts one of the largest private arms stockpiles in Europe. It has been the base for shipping tanks, armored vehicles, and other equipment to Ukraine since 2022.

Since the start of Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, OIP Land Systems has delivered hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukrainian forces.

Company president’s statement

Freddy Versluys, company president, told IsraelHayom: “We don’t sell anything to Israel. Vandals entered the hangar and damaged a lot of equipment. The only damage they caused is a one-month delay in supplying equipment to Ukraine.”

So, despite trying to disrupt support for Israel, it was Ukraine — not Israel — that suffered the consequences.

Who is behind the attack?

The antisemitic group “Stop Arming Israel” claimed it had identified 10 companies in Belgium supposedly “linked to supplying weapons to Israel.” In reality, none of the damaged equipment was intended for the Israeli army.

Technically, OIP Sensor Systems is part of Israeli Elbit Systems, but since 2022, it has been working exclusively for Ukraine, repairing and modernizing equipment procured by European allies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

What is Elbit Systems and its subsidiaries?

Elbit Systems Ltd. is a leading Israeli defense technology company specializing in:

  • electronic systems for aviation;
  • surveillance technologies;
  • unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs);
  • artillery and tank systems.

OIP Sensor Systems, in turn, is a Belgian-based subsidiary of Elbit, with unique production and logistics capabilities in the EU. It focuses on:

  • restoration of armored vehicles;
  • re-equipping tanks for Ukraine’s needs;
  • adapting military equipment to NATO standards.

Who benefits from this?

This incident in Belgium should not be seen as a coincidence. Behind the loud slogans of “fighting Israel” lies a potential Russian influence campaign.

  • The damaged equipment delayed Ukrainian supplies — in the midst of heavy fighting.
  • The attack triggered media backlash simultaneously against Israel and Ukraine.
  • Disinformation in Europe easily finds support among progressive circles.

As noted by NAnews – Israel News, such actions are not just political mistakes, but deliberate provocations aimed at undermining trust in both the Jewish and Ukrainian states within Europe.

NAnews: what you should know

For the Jewish community in Israel, this event is not only a warning about rising antisemitism in Europe, but also a direct threat to the Israel–Ukraine alliance. These “protests” show:

.......
  • how antisemitism is disguised as progressive activism;
  • how attacks on Israel are used to sabotage aid to Ukraine;
  • and how exposing lies and defending the truth is essential — even in democratic Europe.
