The aviation corporation “Yakovlev” informed “Rosaviatsia” about the identification of design deficiencies in 14 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, concerning the fuselage fastenings. In this context, carriers were recommended to conduct inspections and repairs if necessary, as reported by “Izvestia”.
According to the bulletin, fastening problems may occur between the cockpit and the passenger door. Aircraft inspection requires a thorough analysis of the skin, frames, beams, and stringers, aimed at identifying wrinkles, cracks, deformations, as well as loosening of bolt and rivet connections.
As highlighted by the Moscow Times, the Superjet 100 currently remains the only serial Russian aircraft designed after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Its development was carried out with the participation of European companies, and production lasted from 2007 to 2022. With the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Western partners ceased supplying components for its assembly.
