Ben Gurion will cancel the night break for flights with Hasidim to Uman — by decision of Miri Regev

Ben Gurion Airport, located in the densely populated part of Israel, has a three-hour night break for takeoffs and landings, which lasts from 2 to 5 a.m. This schedule is implemented to ensure residents have the opportunity to rest properly. However, Transport Minister Miri Regev decided to cancel this restriction to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of Hasidic pilgrims to Uman, as reported by “Kan” correspondent Michael Shemesh.

According to the information, the minister instructed the management of the Airports Authority that the airport will operate without a night break on September 21, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, and on September 25, when the Hasidim return from Uman.

Long-term cooperation with the IDF also provided conditions for the pilgrims — despite previously spread rumors, border guards will not detain deserters at passport control, emphasizing the importance of pilgrimage over military needs.

The leader of “Yahadut HaTorah,” Yitzhak Goldknopf, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Netanyahu for the opportunity provided and demanded that this gesture be extended to all Hasidim, not only those traveling to Uman but also those who prefer to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in New York and other cities.

At a meeting held with the participation of the Prime Minister, a decision was made to allocate 10 million shekels for organizing the transit of pilgrims through Moldova and countries neighboring Ukraine.
