The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended that Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia pay more attention to combating Hamas amid growing dissatisfaction with these countries’ recognition of Palestine.
Israel has expressed its dissatisfaction with the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia recognizing Palestinian statehood.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in an official statement that it “categorically rejects” this decision. According to diplomats, such actions do not contribute to establishing peace but only “destabilize the region and undermine the chances for a peaceful settlement.”
Representatives of the ministry added that separating the issue of Palestinian statehood from the cessation of conflict “contradicts the sound logic of negotiations and compromises between the parties, distancing the desired peace.”
The statement also indicates that Israel will not accept “detached from reality and fictitious content texts” that could prompt it to agree to unacceptable borders.
Recognition of Palestine by the World Community
On September 13, 2025, a declaration on the creation of the Palestinian state was adopted at the UN General Assembly, with 142 out of 193 member countries voting in favor.
Three countries — Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom — announced their decision to recognize Palestine, hoping that this step would help resolve the situation in the Middle East.
Reaction to the Recognition of Palestine
In response to the actions of these states, Israel strongly urged them to focus on exerting pressure on Hamas, rather than recognizing statehood, which, according to Israeli authorities, only worsens the situation.
Israel emphasizes that the real issues lie not in recognition but in the cessation of violence, which should receive more attention. Such recommendations are supported by the Israeli government and diplomatic circles concerned with regional stability.
