After 734 days of war, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed on the first stage of a peace plan. The agreement is expected to lead to the end of the conflict and the return of all hostages in the coming days.
Among those celebrating this news are Emily Damari and Romi Gonen, who survived captivity.
According to statements, 20 hostages are still alive and are to be returned to Israel by Monday. Many of them have received messages confirming life β videos from Hamas or messages from those released in a previous deal in January-February 2025.
Hostages with proof of life
- Matityahu Angrest: 22 years old, IDF soldier, was kidnapped wounded from a tank in Nahal Oz. He remains the last survivor from the Nahal Oz post still in captivity.
- Gali Berman: 27 years old, kidnapped with her twin brother from Kfar Aza. The family reported a sign of life on February 11, 2025, after almost 500 days in captivity.
- Ziv Berman: 27 years old.
- Elkana Bohbot: 35 years old, worked at the Nova festival. On October 7, he informed his mother and wife that he was helping evacuate the wounded but was later kidnapped to Gaza.
- Rom Braslavsky: 22 years old, kidnapped at the Nova festival in Re’im. Worked as a security guard and tried to save people, for which he was kidnapped.
- Nimrod Cohen: 21 years old, IDF soldier, kidnapped from the Gaza border. In the video, he is alive but looks exhausted.
- David Kunio: 35 years old, kidnapped from his home in Nir Oz with his wife and daughters. His family left captivity in the first deal of 2023, leaving him behind.
- Ariel Kunio: 28 years old, also kidnapped from Nir Oz.
- Evit Yat-David: 24 years old, was kidnapped at the Nova festival with a friend. The video of his condition shocked the entire country.
- Guy Gilbao-Dalal: 23 years old, was also at the festival. In September, Hamas released a video where he talks about the lack of food and water.
- Maxim Herkin: 35 years old, Ukrainian, kidnapped at the Nova festival. In April, a video with him was published with hostage Ban Kupershtein.
- Eitan Horn: 38 years old, kidnapped with his brother, both were infected by terrorists.
- Segev Kalphon: 27 years old, also kidnapped at the Nova festival. In February 2025, his family received a sign of life.
- Bar Avraham Kupershtein: 22 years old, security guard at a party in Re’im, could have escaped but chose to help.
- Oshri Miran: 47 years old, kidnapped from Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
- Eitan Avraham Mor: 23 years old, also kidnapped at the festival.
- Yosef-Chaim Ohana: 25 years old, kidnapped after helping the wounded.
- Alon Ohel: 24 years old, his health has significantly deteriorated in captivity.
- Avinadan Or: 32 years old, kidnapped with his girlfriend. Their video became a well-known symbol of the hostage issue.
- Matityahu Zangauker: 25 years old, was kidnapped with his girlfriend from their home.
Families still awaiting the return of their loved ones gathered around the phone to thank President Trump after the announcement of the ceasefire and the hostage deal.
Hostages without confirmation of life or death
- Bipin Joshi: 24 years old, Nepali, kidnapped in Kibbutz Alumim. The last news about him was in November 2023.
- Tamir Nimrodi: 20 years old, IDF soldier, kidnapped with friends. He is the only Israeli hostage whose family has not been informed of his fate.
