Gulomov remotely managed the actions of the “perpetrator from Ukraine and Western European countries,” providing funding and information about the assassination target. According to the FSB, “Ukrainian special services delivered explosives and other bomb components using drones.”

Preparation for the Attack

According to law enforcement, it was planned to “commit the crime in one of the densely populated areas of the city.” “Expert assessments indicate that the power of the improvised explosive device created by the terrorists could create a zone of complete destruction within a radius of up to 70 meters.”

Death of General Kirillov

The head of the radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Kirillov, and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov died as a result of a bomb explosion planted on an electric scooter under a residential building on Ryazansky Prospekt in December 2024. Ahmad Kurbonov was detained on suspicion of their murder. The investigation suggests that he was recruited at the behest of Ukrainian special services.

Detention of Kurbonov
