On the night of January 13, Russia launched one of the most massive combined strikes on Ukraine in recent times. Ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and hundreds of attack drones were used. The main targets were several regions at once β from the north and center to the south and east of the country.
According to the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense destroyed or suppressed 247 aerial targets. Air defense operations were conducted almost throughout the country, under conditions of a dense and varied attack.
What exactly Russia attacked with
The military reported that the enemy used 18 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, launched from the territories of Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh regions, and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Additionally, seven Iskander-K cruise missiles were recorded, launched from the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
Simultaneously, Russia deployed 293 attack drones, including about 200 Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera devices and UAVs of other modifications. The launch directions covered Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the Kacha airfield in Crimea.
Geography of strikes and air defense work
Ballistic strikes hit the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions.
According to preliminary information, air defense forces destroyed:
two Iskander-M ballistic missiles
five Iskander-K cruise missiles
240 drones
Aerial targets were shot down in the north, south, east, and central parts of Ukraine. At the same time, direct hits of ballistic and anti-aircraft missiles were recorded, as well as 48 attack drones at 24 different locations.
Strikes on energy and consequences
In many regions, air raid sirens sounded at night and in the early morning. There were reports of targeted attacks on energy infrastructure.
Power supply issues arose in Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel in the Kyiv region. In several settlements, emergency shutdowns and disruptions with water and heat were recorded.
Already in the morning, Russia launched a repeat strike β new missile launches and about ten Shahed drones were recorded. Monitoring channels reported cruise missiles moving towards the Kyiv region.
Situation in the capital
The head of the Kyiv city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, confirmed that the capital was attacked with ballistic weapons. Kyiv residents were urged to immediately stay in shelters and not ignore alarm signals.
Context of ongoing terror
In recent weeks, Russia has increasingly combined ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, creating a load on air defense systems and targeting critical infrastructure. Such strikes are not military but openly terrorist in nature β aimed at cold, darkness, and pressure on the civilian population.
It is precisely such nights, when the count goes into hundreds of targets and dozens of hits, that form the new reality of war β and that is why NAnews β News of Israel | Nikk.Agency continues to record and explain what is happening, not losing sight of either the scale of the threat or the price paid by peaceful cities.
