On Saturday, September 7, 2024, a recording of Amos Oz's prediction, made six years ago, is widely circulated on the Israeli X (former Twitter) segment. This political “prediction” about the future of Israel, according to opponents of the Netanyahu government, is coming true before our eyes.

In 2018, Amos Oz spoke at a forum at the Institute for National Security Studies, predicting the demise of the Jewish state if a peaceful two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was not found. He said, “If there are not two states here, there will be one state… an Arab state from the sea to the Jordan… I do not envy our children and grandchildren.”

Oz warned that abandoning the two-state solution would lead to a “dictatorship of fanatical Jews” that would not last long and would eventually be replaced by an Arab state.
