Archaeological excavations on Mount Zion have revealed an unusual find in the form of a Chinese inscription on a 16th-century porcelain bowl. The study has been ongoing for three years under the leadership of Professor Dieter Fugr, who reported the discovery to specialists.

The porcelain bowl was discovered by archaeologist Michael Chernin, who noticed a fragment in the ground. This find attracted the attention of Dr. Anna de Vincentes, who deciphered the inscription in Chinese. Researcher Jingchao Chen confirmed its contents.

Historical evidence points to close trade ties between China and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, making the Mount Zion find even more significant. The head of the Israel Antiquities Authority emphasized the importance of this relationship and the surprise of the find in the heart of Jerusalem.
