The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has provided more than $8 billion in aid to Syria.
An extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the GCC countries in Bahrain was chaired by the organization's Secretary General Mohammad al-Budaiwi. The statement after the meeting supported efforts to achieve a comprehensive transition process.
Condemns Israel's ongoing attacks on Syrian territory, including its occupation of the buffer zone, and calls for lifting Assad-era sanctions against Syria.
The GCC is an organization created in 1981, comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
