The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov once again spoke at the UN General Assembly, stating the country’s allegedly absent intentions to attack NATO and the European Union. However, he warned that aggression against Russia will meet with a “decisive response.”

Lavrov noted that NATO and the EU should not doubt this intention. Furthermore, he added that the North Atlantic alliance threatens not only Russia and China but all of Eurasia, seeking to create a “military ring” around them.
In his speech, Lavrov did not overlook the topic of Ukraine, declaring Russia’s readiness for negotiations to resolve the root causes of the conflict. In this context, the minister recalled the ban on the Russian language in Ukraine, calling this phenomenon unacceptable.
“The Arabic language is not banned in Israel, Hebrew is not banned in Arab countries and Iran. But the Russian language is banned in Ukraine,” he noted.

Against the backdrop of Lavrov’s latest statement, the question was raised as to why NATO countries do not shoot down a number of Russian planes invading their airspace. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that many members of the Alliance fear a possible reaction from Russia.
