Banksy's works are known all over the world. However, city officials are concerned that his graffiti could be erased or removed from building facades.
A mural called 'Well Hung Lover' by artist Banksy in Bristol will go up for auction with the building next year. The painting depicts scantily clad figures of a woman and a man, with the man looking for a lover who is hanging from the edge of a shutter in his underwear. This piece appeared on the wall of a sexual health clinic in 2006.
The Hollis Morgan agency has put up for sale the building with this mural, which is a listed Georgian building. The house is close to Bristol Cathedral and the University of Bristol. The building's basement is currently used as a nightclub, but could be converted into student flats or apartments.
It is noted that Bristol City Council has no official policy regarding street art, even if it is a work by Banksy. “Street art is created as a form of protest, is not always legal, and its fate can change depending on the decision of the building owner,” it said.
Over the summer, Banksy turned a glass police box in central London into an aquarium with piranhas and created seven more new works. After the end of the conflict in the Kyiv region, Banksy painted graffiti on the wall of one of the houses in Gostomel, and this work will be kept in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
