In December 2025, the premiere of the original Ukrainian play “The Tale of Malanka and the Wicked Snake” by the creative team MAK_UA — Ukrainian Art Amateur Forge in Israel will take place in Israel. This is a winter fairy tale for the whole family, which will be performed in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Ashdod from December 23 to 27, 2025.

The play is open to all audiences — Ukrainians, Israelis, new immigrants, Russian-speaking, English-speaking guests, and everyone interested in the culture, history, and traditions of Ukraine.

.......

Alongside the premiere, an important charitable initiative is being launched: everyone can become a wizard for Ukrainian children and their mothers — refugees from the war in Ukraine by purchasing a special charitable ticket for them. The organizers will distribute these tickets to families who are currently in particular need of support and celebration.

✨️ Friends, benefactors! 💙💛✨️
The time of true Christmas magic is approaching — when goodness gets wings, and little dreams come true
✨️🙏We invite you to become a Wizard for Ukrainian children and their mothers, who have been forced to come to Israel due to the war.
You give a ticket — and we turn it into light, joy, and a sense of celebration for those who really need it.
✨️🙏Let’s warm their hearts together and give them a little miracle.
✨️The celebration starts with us, and miracles are created by sincere hearts! ❤️“, – invite the organizers.

Where and when the performances will take place

The premiere of “The Tale of Malanka and the Wicked Snake” by MAK_UA will take place:

  • in Tel Aviv,
  • in Haifa,
  • in Ashdod

from December 23 to 27, 2025.

The exact time and venues are specified by the organizers on the ticket sales page for each city separately, but the general idea is simple: at the end of December, the Ukrainian original winter fairy tale will be performed in three key cities of Israel, so that families from the north, center, and south of the country can attend.

The performance can be attended by:

  • Ukrainian families,
  • Israeli spectators,
  • immigrants from different countries,
  • children and adults,
  • everyone interested in living Ukrainian culture.

Where the charitable ticket goes

A separate important element is charitable tickets.

This is not just an “additional option,” but a real tool to help Ukrainian children and their mothers — refugees from the war in Ukraine, who are forced to live in Israel and often cannot afford to buy tickets to the performance.

The scheme is very simple:

.......
  1. The spectator visits the MAK_UA performance ticket sales page.
  2. Selects a special charitable ticket — child (with a gift) or adult.
  3. Pays for it online.
  4. The organizers record the payment and include this ticket in a separate charitable pool.
  5. The ticket is given to a specific Ukrainian family, which is on the lists of communities, volunteer organizations, or has applied for help directly.
  6. The child and mother come to the hall with the gifted ticket — for them, entry is free.

So you may not even be present at the performance yourself, but your ticket will turn into a celebration for a family that now lives in Israel due to the war and is experiencing a difficult period of adaptation.

About the performance: MAK_UA’s original fairy tale for the whole family and all nations

MAK_UA — Ukrainian Art Amateur Forge in Israel is a creative team that has been creating Ukrainian theatrical productions, concerts, and cultural projects in Israel for many years. “The Tale of Malanka and the Wicked Snake” is their original Ukrainian winter fairy tale. It is a full-fledged theatrical work that will premiere on stage in 2025.

You can learn more about the performance from our material – “The Tale of Malanka and the Wicked Snake”: an authentic Ukrainian original winter fairy tale for the whole family in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Ashdod from December 23-27, 2025 — premiere by MAK_UA

In short: The plot is based on the traditions of Malanka — a Ukrainian winter holiday. At the center is Malanka, who encounters the cunning and treacherous Snake. Together with other characters, she goes through trials, learns to distinguish good from evil, and remains true to herself and her values.

The performance:

  • tells about goodness and responsibility,
  • shows Ukrainian rituals and motifs,
  • uses live language and humor,
  • is accompanied by music, costumes, and a festive atmosphere.

At the same time, it is not only for Ukrainians.
This is an open cultural platform:

  • for Israelis interested in seeing living Ukrainian culture;
  • for families who want to show their children another cultural space;
  • for everyone interested in the history and traditions of Ukraine, especially in the context of the modern diaspora and war.

Why tickets for refugees from the war in Ukraine are especially important

Hundreds of Ukrainian families have found themselves in Israel, fleeing the war. For them, December and the winter holidays are not only a time of garlands and trees but also:

  • a reminder of the home they had to leave;
  • a feeling of loss of their usual life;
  • financial instability;
  • stress from adapting to a new country;
  • constant anxiety for relatives left in Ukraine.

Many of these families live very modestly, and attending a performance for a child becomes a luxury they cannot afford.

When someone buys a charitable ticket, for refugee families it means:

  • a few hours of normal life;
  • the opportunity to spend an evening together at the theater;
  • children’s laughter and emotions not related to the war;
  • the feeling that they are remembered and supported.

For a child, this is not just a performance. It is a memory that in difficult times there were people willing to become “wizards” and bring a little light.

.......

The performance is not only for Ukrainians

The organizers emphasize:

the MAK_UA theater and the performance “The Tale of Malanka and the Wicked Snake” are not only for the Ukrainian community.

This is:

  • an open platform for all residents of Israel;
  • an opportunity to get acquainted with Ukrainian culture through art, not just through news;
  • a theater that will welcome Ukrainians, Israelis, and guests of the country.

If you:

  • are interested in the history of Ukraine,
  • want to show your children another culture,
  • are learning the Ukrainian language,
  • or simply love warm family performances,

— this project is also for you.

Charitable tickets are an addition, not a limitation. You can simply buy a regular ticket and come with your family. Or you can also purchase an additional charitable ticket so that someone else can also attend this celebration.
