Emirati authorities announced the arrest of three killers of Rabbi Kogan

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced the detention of three suspects in the murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan from Israel and Moldova. No details about the detainees have been reported; all data on the results of the investigation will be published later. The rabbi's body was discovered in Abu Dhabi, prompting a Mossad team to fly in to assist in the investigation.

According to early reports, Uzbek mercenaries kidnapped Kogan on instructions from Iranian intelligence services, after which his car was found several hours away from Dubai. The question arose about who exactly the UAE authorities detained – Uzbeks or other suspects not connected with the Uzbek version. The rabbi's wife noticed his disappearance and raised the alarm when he stopped answering his calls.

Zvi Kogan repatriated to Israel after serving in the army and worked through Chabad in the UAE. Since he entered on a Moldovan passport, the country's authorities did not know about his Israeli citizenship, and the first press reports concerned the “kidnapping of a foreigner from Moldova.”
