US Vice President Kamala Harris believes that to end the conflict in the Middle East it is necessary to put pressure on all parties. She stated this in an interview with CBS News, which will be shown on Monday evening, The Hill reports.
Harris noted that US assistance to Israel has helped it defend against ballistic missiles aimed at Israelis and the people of Israel. She stressed that it is necessary to counter threats from Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, and that it is the responsibility to help Israel defend against such attacks.
Currently, the American leadership is conducting diplomatic work with Israel in order to persistently express humanitarian principles and achieve an end to the war and a ceasefire agreement. Harris stressed that the United States is not going to stop putting pressure on Israel and other Arab leaders.
Tensions in the Middle East have risen sharply in recent weeks due to limited Israeli ground operations in Lebanon and Iran's previously established missile attacks on Israel.
