The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah. According to Reuters, he was killed in an Israeli strike on Beirut on September 27. The organization said Nasrallah had joined his fellow martyrs, whom he led for nearly 30 years. Hezbollah's television channel began broadcasting verses of the Koran after the death of leader Nasrallah was announced.
“The IDF reports that yesterday, September 27, 2024, the leader of the terrorist organization Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah was eliminated along with the commander of the Hezbollah Southern Front, Ali Karki, and other Hezbollah commanders,” the statement said. The Israeli military said that following reconnaissance, IAF fighter jets struck Hezbollah's central headquarters, which was underground under a residential building in Beirut.
