Hundreds of doctors from four Israeli health funds will join the Magen David Adom ambulance service in case of emergency. The doctors have been given resuscitation bags so that they can respond to calls at any time.
According to the Kan-11 TV channel, the idea of using clinic doctors in an emergency situation belongs to the Minister of Health Uriel Buso. “This will allow us to quickly get to the scene of an incident anywhere in the country and save the lives of many people in an emergency,” the minister believes.
The Kan-11 TV report stated that the doctors are planned to be used as “on-duty” (“konan” in Hebrew). In peacetime, the “on-duty”, having basic medical equipment and receiving a call in his area via a phone app, is one of the first to arrive at the scene of an incident to assess the situation, transmit the information to the MADA center, and begin resuscitation measures as soon as possible.
