One of the most prominent supporters of Israel in the American MAGA movement, Laura Loomer, came to Ukraine to personally verify the Russian narratives spread among American conservatives. Previously, the blogger opposed aid to Kyiv and repeated statements about ‘Nazis’ in Ukraine, but now admits she was a victim of Russian propaganda.
American political activist and blogger Laura Loomer, who is of Jewish descent and calls herself a Zionist, arrived in Ukraine on July 20, 2026.
She arrived by train and posted a video of her arrival, stating that she intends to see the country with her own eyes and verify the claims that opponents of supporting Ukraine had long convinced her of.
“I am not in Russia because I am not a propagandist,”
— wrote Loomer, accompanying the publication with footage from a Ukrainian train station.
The visit attracted great interest not only in Ukraine but also in the USA. Loomer does not hold an official position in the White House, but she is considered one of the most prominent figures in the radical and ultra-conservative wing of MAGA. She has direct access to Donald Trump, regularly comments on personnel and foreign policy decisions of his administration, and her social media campaigns have repeatedly been accompanied by dismissals or reshuffles in American government structures.
Who is Laura Loomer and why does her position matter
Laura Loomer is an American right-conservative activist, blogger, and former candidate for the US Congress.
She is known for her strong support of Donald Trump, sharp statements against the president’s political opponents, and active participation in the internal conflicts of the MAGA movement.
Loomer is considered influential not because she is part of the official administration, but because her publications are closely read by both Trump supporters and members of his entourage.
In the American press, she has repeatedly been called a person with ‘access to the president’s ear.’ A profile in The New Yorker noted that her accusations and campaigns can lead to real personnel and political consequences.
This makes the current visit to Kyiv especially important.
Ukraine was supported not by a traditional representative of the Democratic Party, not by a liberal journalist, and not by a European activist, but by a person from that part of American politics where Russian propaganda had long found the most favorable audience.
Loomer addresses Trump supporters directly — people, many of whom oppose further funding for Ukraine, consider the war far from American interests, or perceive Russia as a potential ally in the fight against liberalism, China, and Islamic radicalism.
Consistent supporter of Israel
Loomer’s attitude towards Israel has always differed from her previous attitude towards Ukraine.
She was born into a Jewish family, publicly emphasizes her Jewish identity, and calls herself a Zionist.
During a visit to Israel in November 2025, Loomer presented herself as a consistent defender of the Jewish state and warned of the rise of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments within American politics.
She supports a hard line against Iran, Hamas, and other organizations threatening Israel, and also opposes those MAGA representatives who spread anti-Semitic theories or demand that the US completely distance itself from the Jewish state.
In 2025–2026, an internal debate on the issue of Israel intensified within the MAGA movement. Some conservative bloggers and politicians began to criticize American aid to Israel, the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, and the possible involvement of the US in a conflict with Iran.
In this debate, Loomer remained on the pro-Israel side.
She sharply criticized Tucker Carlson and other right-wing commentators whom she considers conduits of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments. In December 2025, she publicly stated that part of the American conservative movement was indeed facing a problem of neo-Nazism and open anti-Semitism.

From an opponent of aid to Ukraine to recognizing Russian propaganda
Not long ago, Loomer held a completely opposite position regarding Ukraine.
She opposed the allocation of American aid to Kyiv, spread claims of alleged ‘mass Nazism’ in Ukraine, and called the Ukrainian leadership ‘hostile to US interests.’
In one of her previous publications, she wrote that she did not want further use of American taxpayers’ money to support Ukraine. She also repeated the Russian thesis about the need for ‘denazification,’ which the Kremlin uses to justify its full-scale invasion.
On June 18, 2026, it became known about a sharp change in her position.
Loomer stated that for years she had been a victim of the Russian information campaign and believed the propaganda spread among MAGA supporters.
She admitted that her perceptions of Ukraine were formed without personal acquaintance with the country and were largely based on materials from pro-Russian bloggers and accounts.
Loomer did not delete her previous publications.
She explained this by her desire to publicly show her own mistake and the path that led her to change her position.
For American politics, such a step is unusual. In conditions of extreme polarization, influential bloggers rarely admit that they have been spreading erroneous or manipulative statements for years, especially if these statements have brought them audience support.
“I came to see Ukraine with my own eyes”
After arriving in Ukraine, Loomer stated that she wants to personally find evidence of the accusations that were spread against Kyiv.
“I am going to try to find confirmation of the propaganda that I was fed. If I don’t find it, I will tell everyone so they can come and see the truth too,” she wrote.
Already in the first hours of the visit, her publications began to gather hundreds of thousands of views.
The peculiarity of these messages is that Loomer does not try to address the American audience through familiar Ukrainian or European arguments.
She connects Russia’s war against Ukraine with topics that are especially sensitive for the conservative US voter:
— Moscow’s cooperation with Iran;
— the threat to American military personnel in the Middle East;
— persecution of Christians and religious minorities;
— abduction of Ukrainian children;
— Russian and Chinese influence operations against the USA;
— the security of Israel and Washington’s allies.
Such an approach may prove much more effective than traditional calls to defend international law or European security.
Russia, Iran, and Israel’s security
For the pro-Israel audience, the Russian-Iranian factor is especially important.
Russia is developing military cooperation with Iran, using Iranian strike drones against Ukrainian cities, and simultaneously helping Tehran circumvent international isolation.
Iran, in turn, remains Israel’s main state adversary, supporting Hamas, Hezbollah, and other armed formations in the region.
Thus, the previous sympathy of part of MAGA for Russia directly contradicts the traditional support for Israel.
If Moscow cooperates with a regime that openly threatens Israel’s destruction and supports attacks on American military personnel, it becomes increasingly difficult to perceive Russia as a natural ally of American conservatives.
It is on this contradiction that a significant part of Loomer’s new rhetoric is now built.
For her, supporting Ukraine now appears not as charity or aid to a distant European country, but as an element of a broader confrontation with Russia, Iran, and China.
In this context, Ukraine becomes a state that daily destroys Iranian weapons, studies Russian methods of warfare, and gains experience potentially important for the security of the US and Israel.
Trip to Bucha and evidence of Russian crimes
During the visit, Loomer visited Bucha — a city in the Kyiv region that became one of the main symbols of the Russian army’s crimes against civilians.
She reported seeing materials about the killings of civilians, torture of prisoners, and persecution of religious figures.
After what she saw, the blogger publicly questioned who is really using Nazi methods if Russian soldiers torture Ukrainians and leave swastikas on the bodies of prisoners.
This trip was a direct challenge to one of the central theses of Russian propaganda — the claim that the invasion was allegedly necessary to fight Nazism.
For Loomer’s audience, evidence of crimes against Protestants, Evangelicals, and other Christian communities may be especially important.
In the USA, religious conservatives make up a significant part of Donald Trump’s electorate.
Stories about destroyed churches, killings of clergy, and persecution of believers can affect them more strongly than general statements by politicians about the Russian threat.
Why Loomer’s visit is important for Ukraine and Israel
Laura Loomer’s visit does not mean an automatic change in US policy.
She does not represent the White House, does not participate in official negotiations, and does not have the authority to make decisions about military aid.
However, her influence lies in a different plane.
She is capable of conveying information about Ukraine to several million American conservatives who rarely read traditional media and do not trust the statements of the Democratic Party, the European Union, or international organizations.

For Israel, the appearance of a pro-Israel influential MAGA figure on Ukraine’s side also has symbolic significance.
For a long time, there was a division in the American right-wing movement: one could strongly support Israel but simultaneously justify Russia or oppose aid to Ukraine.
Loomer now shows that these positions are increasingly difficult to reconcile.
Supporting Israel while ignoring Moscow’s alliance with Tehran means overlooking one of the most significant threats to the Jewish state.
The turnaround within MAGA is just beginning
It is too early to talk about a complete change in the MAGA movement’s attitude towards Ukraine.
There are still many politicians, bloggers, and voters in Trump’s entourage who oppose aid to Kyiv.
Some of them consider China the main adversary of the US and do not want to simultaneously conflict with Russia. Others demand to stop foreign spending and focus on America’s internal problems.
However, Loomer’s example shows that Russian propaganda within MAGA no longer goes unanswered.
Moreover, this response comes not from liberal media but from within the conservative movement itself — from an American of Jewish descent, a staunch supporter of Israel, and one of Donald Trump’s most prominent allies on social media.
Following the trip, Loomer plans to prepare a special edition of her podcast and a series of materials for the American audience.
The main question now is whether she will maintain her new position after returning to the US and whether she can turn her personal acknowledgment of error into a broader discussion among Trump supporters.
But the very fact of her visit to Kyiv has political significance.
A person who not long ago repeated Russian theses and opposed aid to Ukraine now intends to tell millions of American conservatives about Russian crimes, Moscow’s alliance with Iran, and the threat this bloc poses to the US and Israel.
