Israel is ready to discuss control over the Philadelphia Corridor after the end of the conflict with the Hamas terrorist group, Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer said in an interview with Bloomberg. According to him, it is important for Israel to leave its military forces there to prevent Hamas from rearming.
The minister stressed that the Israeli government needs to maintain a troop presence in the area to prevent possible threats from Hamas. “Israel wants to reach an agreement with the Palestinians. But we are not prepared to compromise on anything that would jeopardize the security of 10 million Israelis,” Dermer said.
