On May 20, 2025, Jewish chaplain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Yakiv Synyakov, representing the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine (FJCU), once again arrived at the front line. He delivered generators, Tehillim books, humanitarian aid, and words of support to Ukrainian paratroopers serving on the most intense parts of the frontline.

This is just one link in a chain of regular missions carried out by Synyakov and the FJCU since the first months of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Putin’s Russia—an ally of Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah, who seek the destruction of the Jewish state.

Chaplain Yakiv Synyakov’s May 2025 missions: how the Jewish community supports Ukraine’s defenders

May 2025 became a month when the Jewish community of Ukraine once again demonstrated its unwavering stance—to stand with those defending the country at the front. The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine (FJCU) reported that Yakiv Synyakov and his colleagues conducted several consecutive missions to Eastern Ukraine, each including humanitarian aid, spiritual support, and direct involvement in the lives of the soldiers.

May 5, 2025: frontline aid and paratrooper support

This date marked the start of the May missions. As part of the FJCU initiative, Yakiv Synyakov visited a Ukrainian paratrooper unit, conducted personal conversations with soldiers, handed out pocket Tehillim books, and delivered humanitarian aid including generators and essential supplies. The unit received support from both the Federation and the Jewish community of Dnipro.

“When every day on the front line is a test, we need not only weapons, but also words—warm, sincere, and real,” FJCU emphasized.

May 9, 2025: another delivery of generators and spiritual support

On May 9, Synyakov again delivered generators to Ukrainian soldiers, held spiritual and psychological conversations, and distributed Tehillim in Ukrainian. This aid came from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine and active members of the Dnipro Jewish community.

May 12, 2025: personal meetings and new supplies

On May 12, the chaplain again traveled to the paratroopers. Synyakov held personal meetings with soldiers, read psalms with them, handed out new Tehillim editions, and delivered additional generators provided by the Federation. The unit he visited was positioned in an especially dangerous sector.

May 20, 2025: final mission—support for frontline troops

The final mission in this series took place on May 20. Yakiv Synyakov once again visited the Eastern frontline to meet with paratroopers. The visit included:

  • Prayers and recitation of Tehillim with the troops;
  • Distribution of humanitarian aid, including generators;
  • Spiritual discussions and support.

Oleksandr Rutman, Hlib Urytskyi, and Leonid Sandomyrsky—philanthropists who made this assistance possible—were specially acknowledged by the FJCU.

“Being close isn’t about distance, it’s about the heart,” stated the Federation.

FJCU: Jews of Ukraine stand with the army, the people, and the state

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, like the entire Ukrainian nation, is fighting against a global terror alliance: Russia, Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah act in coordination.

Russia is a constant enemy of Israel on international platforms. It:

.......
  • Votes against Israel at the UN and UNESCO;
  • Supports Hamas and Hezbollah;
  • Cooperates with Iran, supplying technologies and weapons;
  • Actively promotes antisemitic narratives in global politics.

The voice of Israel–Ukraine solidarity

The website NAnews — Israel News follows stories that unite the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples. Yakiv Synyakov and his mission are examples of a spiritual front, where the struggle is not only for land, but also for human dignity.

“I don’t just bring aid. I bring light, faith, and a sense of shared support from our entire community,” says Yakiv Synyakov.

Today, as Jews of Ukraine and Israel face a shared threat—Putin’s alliance with terrorists—every effort, every prayer, and every generator becomes part of the greater victory of light over darkness.
