On September 30, 2025, the results of a Gallup poll were announced, according to which less than a quarter of respondents from Israel and “Palestine” expect a lasting peace in the region.
The study, published by zn.ua, conducted from June to August, showed that only 21% of Israeli adults are confident in the possibility of peace with “Palestine,” while 63% believe it will never happen. Among Palestinians, 23% hope for peace, and 65% share pessimistic views.
Survey Methodology
The survey was conducted among Palestinians in “territories occupied by Israel, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem.” Given the political situation, Gallup was unable to conduct a survey among Gaza residents in 2024 and 2025 due to “security issues.”
Attitude Towards a Two-State Solution
According to the study, the majority of respondents, both Israeli and Palestinian, do not support the idea of a two-state solution. Only a third of Palestinians are in favor, with 55% against. In Israel, support for this approach is 27%, with 63% against.
Age Differences
Among Palestinians over 50, 46% are willing to approve the creation of two states, while among Israelis of the same age group, only 26% support this idea.
Statements by Politicians
On September 29, 2025, at a press conference, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a 20-point plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. Trump stated that Netanyahu agrees with the proposal. He added that if Hamas refuses the agreement, Israel will receive full US support to destroy this group.
