In Lebanon, preparations have been completed for the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, who was killed in an Israeli air strike about two months ago in Beirut.
Ibrahim al-Mousawi, a member of the Lebanese parliament from Hezbollah, said that preparations for the mourning event have been completed. At the same time, Hezbollah spokesman Kamati said that there was a “serious discussion” about Nasrallah’s funeral.
According to him, Hezbollah chose to postpone the event until it could hold it “properly and in accordance with the status of the secretary general.”
Nasrallah's mass funeral could be a “show of strength” for Hezbollah and serve as a “referendum” on support among the Lebanese people, ITV Channel 14 reports. With the introduction of a ceasefire, it is possible that Hezbollah will try to present this event as a “demonstration of victory over the Israeli aggressor.”
It was previously reported that the body of the former Hezbollah leader was temporarily buried in a secret location.
