Netanyahu ordered the Israeli army to continue fighting at full capacity despite the ceasefire proposal.

For example, Israeli Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his government had not responded to a proposal from the United States, France and their allies for a 21-day ceasefire in Israel's conflict with Hezbollah.

In a statement, Netanyahu's office said: “This is an American-French proposal to which the prime minister has not even responded.” He also ordered the army to “continue fighting with full force.”

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid said the Israeli government should accept a seven-day ceasefire only if Hezbollah withdraws from the border. “We will not accept any proposal that does not include Hezbollah withdrawing from our northern border,” he said.

France and the United States have proposed a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon to begin talks, with several Arab and EU countries joining in. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has expressed hope for a swift ceasefire to end fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah that has raised fears of a possible ground invasion.
