Syrian media, which supports the terrorist organization Hezbollah and the Assad regime + Russian occupiers in Syria, published photographs on their social networks that they claim depict Russian soldiers participating in the war in Ukraine. On the uniforms of these soldiers are visible chevrons depicting the symbols of Hezbollah and the leader of (former:) Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah, which symbolizes their solidarity with this group.
The source of the photos is Hamdi Arnous (Hamdy Arnous) is a Syrian military officer and active social media user who reportedly is engaged in propaganda of the actions of the Syrian army and Russian armed forces in Syria.
The original caption reads October 5, 2024:

He is known for sharing news and videos about military operations against terrorist groups such as HAIAT TAHRIR AL-SHAMM (HTS) and Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) using Twitter.
On his social media pages, Arnous publishes information about the actions of Syrian troops, such as attacks on militant positions using drones and other military operations. For example, he shared messages about how the Syrian army is using FPV drones to fight terrorists in Idlib and Hama
Information about Hamdi Arnous largely focuses on his role as a provider of news about military activities and as a voice supporting the current regime in Syria and its allies, including Russia. While his profile may not be well known outside of Syria, his activity on social media indicates his importance as a propagandist in the context of the Syrian conflict.
It was previously known that there are five Russian occupation groups of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine: “West”, “Center”, “East”, “South” and “Dnepr”. Recently there was also a group “North”which is responsible for the Belgorod, Kursk (Russian part 🙂 and Bryansk regions.
Several key points can be highlighted from the information:
- Support for Hezbollah: Syrian media that supports Hezbollah and the Assad regime are publishing photographs in which they claim Russian soldiers in Ukraine are wearing Hezbollah symbols. This demonstrates an attempt to create an image of unity and solidarity with terrorist groups.
- Hamdi Arnous: This Syrian soldier and activist is the source of these photos and actively promotes the actions of the Syrian army and Russia on his social networks. His work highlights the importance of the information field in the context of conflict.
- Symbolism and propaganda: The use of Hezbollah chevrons on the uniforms of Russian soldiers indicates an attempt to unite various armed groups against common opponents, which may also help legitimize these groups in the international arena.
These elements highlight complex geopolitical connections and the use of current conflicts to form new alliances.
