Hezbollah militants' pagers were planted with explosives by Israeli intelligence several months ago, information provided to Reuters.
According to the data, on September 17, there were massive explosions of Hezbollah pagers used for communication in Lebanon. There were many wounded and killed.
A Lebanese security source said Hezbollah ordered 5,000 pagers from Taiwan's Gold Apollo, which were delivered earlier this year.
According to Gold Apollo founder Hsu Ching-Kuang, the pagers that exploded were made in Europe, and Hezbollah militants use pagers as a means of communication.
A Lebanese source claims that the Mossad modified Hezbollah devices to contain explosives. “The Mossad embedded a circuit board with explosive material in the device that receives a code. It is very difficult to detect by any means. Even with any device or scanner,” the source said.
Thus, three thousand pagers exploded after sending a coded message. It is noted that the new pagers contain up to three grams of explosives, which Hezbollah did not notice.
The images of the destroyed pagers analyzed by the agency match the Gold Apollo pagers from Taipei. Recall that Axios named the target of the Israeli operation against Hezbollah.
