Dozens of right-wing activists, including MKs from the Utzma Yehudit party, broke into the Sde Taiman detention camp this afternoon, where Nuhba militants who took part in the October 7 attack are being held. The unrest began after the arrest of eight soldiers suspected of raping a Hamas terrorist.
The Metzah investigation began after the terrorist was taken to Soroka Hospital (Be'er Sheva) with rectal bleeding. Following the arrest, a delegation of right-wing forces arrived at the camp gates to express support for the arrested soldiers. The protesters blocked the entrance to the camp and demanded the release of the detainees.
Netanyahu and Galant called on the rally participants to leave the camp and publicly supported the arrest of the soldiers. The head of the Israeli Interior Ministry said that the arrest was “humiliating” and called on the public and the command to support the soldiers. Clashes occurred during the arrest, and the military prosecutor's office is investigating the incident.
