Russian Drones in Polish Airspace
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his opinion on the improper use of Russian drones penetrating Polish airspace. The statement was made before his visit to Israel and the United Kingdom, Reuters reports.
According to Rubio, the U.S. does not accept any intrusion into Polish airspace and considers the experience with Russian drones “unacceptable, regrettable, and dangerous.” The main question is whether this was intentional or accidental.
Intentional Interference or Accident?
The Secretary of State noted that “undoubtedly, the drones were launched,” however, “it is still unclear whether they were specifically targeted at Poland.” Rubio emphasized that if it turns out that the drones’ target was indeed Polish territory, it will lead to a serious escalation of the conflict.
Discussion of Facts with Allies
The U.S. representative expressed his assumptions about Russia’s possible intentions, emphasizing that it is important to gather all the facts and consult with allies before making final conclusions. There are many possible developments of the situation, and the U.S. is interested in an objective assessment of the incident.
Given the current geopolitical situation on the Eastern European front, this situation will become a subject of discussion at the level of international diplomacy.
