Despite US sanctions, the two countries are deepening their scientific ties, said the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali. He announced the launch of two Iranian satellites, Kowsar and Hodhod, into a 500-kilometer Earth orbit on the said date, citing science and technology cooperation between Iran and Russia.

According to Reuters, Tasnim reported that the development of two satellites, the high-resolution Kowsar and Hodhod, a small communications satellite, was the first major step in Iran's private space sector. At the same time, Iran is sending a bold diplomatic message, threatening a comprehensive response to US warnings of possible counterattacks on Israel. There are plans to use even more powerful warheads and other weapons as part of a response to American actions.
