Russia is actively using artificial intelligence to create fake videos to discredit Vice President Kamala Harris. According to the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center, such videos contain false accusations and are aimed at undermining the election campaign.

One example is a video in which Harris is credited with poaching in Zambia. Some of these videos receive millions of views, although most do not gain significant popularity. For example, a video with false accusations against Minnesota Governor Tim Volz received more than 5 million views in the first 24 hours after its publication.

Experts note that the use of artificial intelligence makes it possible to create realistic but fictitious materials that can mislead the general public. Disinformation campaigns are not new to the US, but the use of artificial intelligence to create fake videos takes these attacks to a new level.

In addition to Russia, other countries are also influencing the erosion of trust in candidates. Thus, according to Microsoft, Chinese operatives are directing their efforts to Republican candidates who express criticism of China.
