Smotrich proposed to control the entire northern part of Gaza

Israel's finance minister said that if negotiations for the release of the hostages do not “bring progress”, the IDF controls the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

After this, there will be a demand for Hamas to release the prisoners, otherwise the IDF will remain in Gaza. Freedom of action for the IDF is a precondition for negotiations and no other agreement will be approved.

The politician also emphasized that the IDF has the right to act against terrorism in both Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. His words reflect the position of the Israeli government, which does not allow alternative agreements.
