According to Ivan Timochko, Chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the North Korean military is already participating in the Russian war against Ukraine.

North Korean troops helped build tunnels in Palestine and Lebanon. Timochko noted that the North Korean military is actively used in various theaters of military operations. There were reports of 10-12 thousand North Korean soldiers who would join the Russian army, which is a significant number. They will probably try to use them in the Kursk region so that they can adapt to new conditions.

According to Timochko, this will give the Russian Federation an opportunity for political maneuver, since it can be stated that North Korean troops are allies helping to conduct military operations on Russian territory. There is a possibility that the North Korean military will be used in Ukraine. North Korean soldiers are undergoing training before being sent to the front in Ukraine in the Russian Far East.

On October 18, it was announced that about 11,000 North Korean troops were undergoing training in eastern Russia and would be ready for war in Ukraine by November 1.
