The scale of the geography confirms the systemic nature of the attack.

Threat to energy and the position of the President of Ukraine

The day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Russia’s preparation for new massive strikes on energy infrastructure.

According to him, Russian attacks are ‘evolving’ and becoming combined. This requires precise tuning of air defense systems and timely support from partners.

Any delays in the supply of missiles for air defense, the president noted, increase the scale of destruction.

For readers of NANews β€” News of Israel | Nikk.Agency, this situation has an additional dimension. The Ukrainian energy system remains one of the key targets, and disruptions in water and heat supply are not only a humanitarian problem but also a factor of state resilience in wartime conditions.

The attack on February 17 showed that strikes on regions are both military and infrastructural in nature. The goal is to pressure the rear, utility networks, and the civilian population.

In the conditions of 2026, air defense issues, energy protection, and the resilience of utility infrastructure remain critical for Ukraine. And each such attack is not only a military report but also a test of the regions’ readiness for prolonged stress.
