The celebration of the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah in Uman, Cherkasy region, passed without serious violations. Pilgrims have begun to depart, reports Zoya Vovk, head of the communications department of the National Police in the Cherkasy region.

In Uman, a combined law enforcement unit was working to ensure safety, which included employees of the National Police, National Guard, Migration Service, and State Emergency Service. Nine Israeli police officers supported their Ukrainian colleagues, patrolling the area where the pilgrims were staying.

Preliminary Measures

Before the holiday, law enforcement conducted preventive measures in accordance with martial law requirements. This included reminders about behavior rules during air raids and curfews.

Number of Pilgrims

According to Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as of September 22, more than 35,000 Hasidim had arrived in Uman.

The United Jewish Community of Ukraine reported that the expected number of pilgrims by the time of the celebration had already been reached, and according to preliminary estimates, its upper limit will be up to 38,000. The situation in the area of the Rabbi Nachman memorial complex is under control.
