At a government meeting, it was decided to extend subsidies for temporary housing for evacuees from the north and south until February 28. According to Ynet, more than 68 thousand Israelis are still in other people's homes and hotels because they cannot return due to the military situation. Of these, about 13,600 receive housing at the expense of the state, and the remaining 54.5 thousand receive rental subsidies.

The extension of payments for housing for evacuees is financed using a “printing press”, due to a twofold revision of budget expenditures. The government has increased the allowed budget deficit ceiling to seek additional funds. However, it remains unclear how the program for the return of troops from Lebanese territory will be implemented.

Additionally, the restoration plan for the northern territories has not yet been approved.
