The Hamas terror group has accused the Israeli prime minister of dragging his feet on negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner swap. The group claims that Netanyahu has presented new conditions that complicate the settlement process. Mediators at the Rome meeting have already begun to notice the tactics of “delay and evasion.”
In its statement, Hamas noted that the Israeli Prime Minister had made new demands, including withdrawal from the Israeli document approved by the UN. According to the Al-Akhbar newspaper, Israel is demanding Hamas control over a certain territory and the possibility of resuming military action if necessary.
A Hamas spokesman said the Palestinians would continue to fight until all their land is liberated and an independent state is established, while Netanyahu's office issued a new statement on the prisoner exchange negotiations.
